Instagram was exploding on International Women’s Day, but, chelloo, all 31 days in March are part of Women’s History Month. As such, I dedicated this whole week to remarkable women in art. It’s not just the household names, either—who needs that? We’re all way too busy. You need to know the arty women who have great ideas and actually execute them in a most incredible fashion. Mr. Dottie always says it’s all about the execution. Is it self-serving to think the idea itself counts for something? After all, even Eleanor Roosevelt said, “Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.” Let’s just give some credit to my enormous file drawer filled with fascinating ideas—I would be thrilled to discuss them anytime. Until then, let’s download with great female minds in design, the nonprofit art world, contemporary art, and nonprofit exhibition spaces.
