Happy Valentine’s Day and start spreading the news—this week is all about modern design and fashion in New York. Yes, I know L.A. has been officially deemed cooler now that we have Bey and Hova in the hood, but no one knows fashion like the Big Apple. Let’s face it: Where else do as many people even get to appreciate your stylish collection? I mean, it is almost becoming a joke how dolled up I am for the drop-off line every morning. I am seriously considering parking and walking into my son’s elementary school just so someone, anyone, can briefly take in my fabulousness. In London it’s too rainy to wear my favorite shoes, in L.A. I am in my car all day, and in Paris, well…we can go there next month. In the meantime, we really need to focus on serious multitasking. The current short-term goal is to maximize viewing the best collections at NYFW, and collect amazing modern design during Modernism Week, Valentine’s Day memories, and moments throughout Presidents’ Weekend. We can do this, collectistas! As we embark upon the journey, let’s stop and say “Hello Kitty,” get an update on my favorite stroke of genius, and explore meds and midcentury design in Philadelphia (these shows are intended to be mutually exclusive experiences but I suppose they don’t have to be). Lots of love….
