I have to tell you, the passion-for-film thing totally skipped my generation. However, in memory of my father and support of my son, I make the annual pilgrimage to the Sundance Film Festival. As always, it has been the most crazy, oversubscribed (I looove utilizing that word instead of saying “it was too effing crowded”), yet fascinating time of year in Park City, Utah. In order to preemptively salvage what sanity I still have left, we booked a car and driver for our entire stay. Off we went—straight from the runway and into our first film at 9:30 p.m. last Thursday night. We then attended five films a day during the opening weekend. Similar to my knowledge of wines, I absolutely know a fabulous film and a horrible film the moment I see one. I am not equipped to deeply analyze either and certainly can’t give airtime to anything in between. Thankfully for you, I travel with the pros. Additionally, I have leveraged my overabundant relationships with certified professionals to make the most of your holidays, went inside the design studio with Dougall Paulson, hung with Bergen Wheeler at Exhale, and took in the fantastic Faking It show at FIT.
